Mr Murtuza Mookhtiar is a NHS Consultant Ophthalmologist and the Lead Clinician for Surgical Retina Services as well Lasers at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He has a special interest in diabetic retinopathy.

Murtuza spent his early years in Wales and after graduating from the University of Bristol undertook training in Kent and then Yorkshire including working in Leeds and Bradford whilst completing his specialist training in surgical retina.

Murtuza also undertook  a year doing Ophthalmic Public Health at the University of Leeds, leading to the award of a Masters in Public Health which was based on work involving  diabetic retinopathy.
